UK Finance Minister Rishi Sunak Cleared Of Ethics Breach

UK's Rishi Sunak, Health Minister Quit In Huge Crisis For Boris Johnson

UK Finance Minister Rishi Shah and Sajid Javid, Health Secretary were both forced to resign on Tuesday. This plunged Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s government into serious crisis.

Sunak wrote that he felt “sad” to be leaving the government and has now concluded “we can’t continue this way”.

“The public has rightly expected government to operate properly, efficiently, and professionally. Rishi Sunak wrote that although this is my last job as a minister, he believes these standards are worthy of fighting for.

After a string of scandals, Mr Javid stated that he was unsure Johnson could govern in the national interests. He said he couldn’t “continue in good conscience.” Johnson’s ability and capability to manage in the national interest had been doubted by many legislators, he said.

“It is regrettable to say that, however, it is clear that me this situation won’t change under your leadership — and you have consequently lost my confidence also,” Mr Javid wrote in a note to Mr Johnson.
