Delhi monsoon, finally.Heavy rain, flooded roads, huge jams

Delhi has witnessed heavy rains at the beginning of the monsoon, providing peace of mind after a series of hot and humid days when temperatures soared above 40 degrees Celsius.

Some of the cities that rained this morning included eastern Kailash, Burari, Shahdara, Patparganj, ITO intersection, India Gate, Barapura, ring road, Delhi-Noida border, and Delhi-Gurgaon road. The temperature settled at 27.6 degrees Celsius.

Images from parts of the city showed submerged roads during reported traffic jams during the morning rush hours.

Due to heavy rain, we also detoured two flights to Delhi. Air India flights were detoured to Amritsar, while Indigo flights were detoured to Jaipur. Some other flights are delayed.
