Japan’s former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe was on stage, delivering a speech at Nara when he was shot, reportedly within the chest. Shinzo Abe was rushed to a hospital bleeding, with first responders saying he was “displaying no very important indicators”. He has gone into pulmonary cardiac arrest, native media reviews recommended. Visuals from the spot confirmed a number of ambulances and emergency response groups attempting to rescue him.
“Former prime minister Abe was shot at round 11:30 am in Nara. One man, believed to be the shooter, has been taken into custody. The situation of former Pime Minister Abe is at the moment unknown,” Japan’s chief cupboard secretary Hirokazu Matsuno advised reporters.
A person in his 40s had been arrested for tried homicide and a gun had been confiscated from him. Shinzo Abe, 67, was making a speech on the marketing campaign occasion and “a person got here from behind”, a younger girl advised NHK.
In line with reviews, Shinzo Abe collapsed after a second shot was fired. A number of media reviews stated he appeared to have been shot from behind, presumably with a shotgun.
