Jamugurihat: Nadual Elementary School Block (Biswanas Department) in southern Sootea Two elementary schools, Bogoliati LPS and Bozimari JBS, were flooded. Both educational institutions on the Biswanath-Panpur embankment were submerged by floods from Brahmaputra.
Both schools were declared closed by the SMC (School Management Board) until the flood site improved. In particular, Jhankamari LPS has been uprooted by recent erosion. The school was temporarily set up on the bank of the Biswanert-Panpool embankment with the help of locals. Jhankamari LPS education and learning practices are conducted under a temporary hut on the embankment. If the southern part of Sutea is not protected by scientific means of erosion protection, the vast area will soon be swallowed by Brahmaputra. The communal graveyard in the Bhojmari area and Masjid in Bhojmari were uprooted by erosion, and one hectare of paddy fields was swallowed by the flood. Biswanath MLA Pramod Borthakur visited the flood-affected areas on Friday with Biswanath district administration officials. NEMSU and AAMSU called on the state government and relevant departments to take immediate action in this regard.
