Minister of Water Resources Pijush Hazarika visits flood-affected areas

The minister ordered the Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretary to release temporary subsidies on time for those whose homes were damaged by the flood. In the afternoon, the minister visited the Jartark area of Tamurupur to investigate the erosion of the Pagrajia River in this area.

Minister Hazarika said she felt uneasy and unhappy when she spoke to local media and learned that the eroded embankment had been breached without the attention of the department. “After learning that the embankment is being eroded, we can at least try to protect the embankment by participating in the erosion in an emergency operation,” he said. In many cases, the water resources sector handles such cases and protects eroded embankments at the right time and with the right work. The Minister ordered all technicians, staff, and other workers in the department to make more efforts and take emergency measures to protect the embankment.
