Earlier, the Center announced the reduction of disturbed areas imposed under AFSPA in Nagaland, Assam and Manipur from April 1st, decades later.

While praising the BJP-led Assam administration, the Prime Minister then stated that the effect of the BJP’s “double engine” administration on the resurgence of Assam’s permanent peace and rapid development was evident.

“Today, when someone visits the northeast and witnesses the rapid development in the region, they are also proud. I understand the problems in the region,” he said.

He further welcomed the Bodo Agreement signed between the Center, the Assam Government, and the Bodo Group, alleging that it brought “lasting peace” to Assam.

“Last year, several organizations in Calvi Anglon joined the peace and development resolution. Bod Accord opened a new door to lasting peace in 2020,” he added.
