Delhi has reported a rise in COVID-19-related cases, and there is a high positivity rate of almost 20%. On Tuesday, Manish Sisodia, the Deputy Chief Minister said that people who have received the booster vaccine are more protected from coronavirus infections than those who did not receive it.
A day after the City reported 3 new deaths and 917 new cases, Sisodia met up with district magistrates and senior officials from the Health Department to increase vaccinations. The number of hospitalisations has increased due to these cases, prompting authorities to re-issue their call for COVID-19 compliance and wearing masks.
The only patients that have received two doses of vaccine are the Corona-infected. Only 10% were Corona infected by the third dose. This shows that those who take precautionary measures are less likely to contract corona infections,” said the Deputy Chief Minister.
The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Naresh Karma, who also directed district magistrates visit to confirm the condition of the vaccination camps that will be established at busy places like metro stations, markets and malls.
Sisodia stated that the Delhi government was keeping an eye on coronavirus and had already improved its health infrastructure.
