Donations to the CM Relief’s Fund follow nearly a month of relief efforts supported by the Reliance Foundation in Assam, along with state governments and civil society organizations.

The Reliance Foundation responded quickly to flood conditions and worked with on-site teams with the Assam Department of Disaster Management, Health and Family Welfare, National Health Missions, Livestock and Veterinary Department, District Administration, and other civil society organizations. In the Cachar district, the Reliance Foundation is supporting emergency relief efforts in the Silchar, Karin, Borkhola and Katigoarh blocks, and relief efforts are underway in the Kathiatoli, Raha, Nagaon Sadar and Kampur blocks in the Nagaon district.

Medical camps are held and emergency relief kits are distributed. Moreover, after several weeks of constant rainfall in the state, many livestock camps were held in one of the most affected areas, the Kacha and Nagaon districts. Since the start of the camp on June 1, more than 1,900 people have been screened and treated for various health conditions resulting from floods. Over 10,400 animals were treated in livestock camps.

Alongside medical camps, the Reliance Foundation distributes relief kits with dry food and hygiene needs to provide immediate relief at the home level. To date, kits have been provided to 5,000 households.
