Army Receives Indigeneous Equipment To Boost Combat Capability In Ladakh

On Tuesday, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh handed over to Army an extensive range of indigenous military equipment. This was in spite of China’s ongoing border standoff.

Other equipment received by the Army included patrolling boats and surveillance hardware. A new anti-personnel mine Nipun’ was also installed. Infantry-protected mobility vehicle, rugged and automated communication system. It also has an upgraded sight system for tanks. Advanced thermal imagingrs were added.

In light of the prolonged military standoff between Chinese troops and their forces at several points of friction for more than two years, the government decided to hand over the equipment.
