GAURISAGAR: Assam Press Correspondence Union (APCU) Sivasagar District Committee held the 5th Antarikshya Dutta Memorial Lecture on Saturday with the joint support of Antarikshya Dutta Nyas Rakshya Samiti and Nakatani High School.
The all-day program began with lighting the lamps in front of portraits of Antarikshya Dutta, journalists Kamala Saikia and Prasanna Kumar Dutta.
After that, the 5th Antarikshya Dutta Memorial Symposium was held, and the topic “Poverty and educational media do not hinder student educational development” was taken up. School inspectors Kamaljyoti Gogoi, Sivasagar and Charaideo districts have started the symposium. Ranjit Khanikar, an associate professor at Nitaikhuri HCD Goswami University, has been appointed chair. Other high-ranking officials attending the meeting were Subhrajyoti Borah, Police Chief, Sivasagar, and Sivasagar ADC Bitupon Neog. At the meeting, the APCU Sivasagar District Committee awarded the Martyr Journalist Kamala Saikia Award to Jogesh Ojah, Senior Staff Reporter for Dainik Agradoot in 2021 and Kongkon Borthakur Staff Reporter for Dainik Janambhumi in 2022.
