Jamagrihat: Social organizer and retired teacher Tilak Kakati died on Tuesday after a prolonged illness at a private hospital in Guwahati. He was 68 years old.
Kakati, the founder of Hattinga High School, was closely associated with many socio-cultural organizations in the Jamagrihat region. He was a lifelong member of Axam Xahitya Xabha, Srimanta Sankardev Sangha, Bebejiya Village Development Committee and others. The premature death of the region’s famous Baona artist, Tilak Kakati, was widespread and sad. He leaves a son with his wife, the host of his relatives.
