BONGAIGAON — A Bongaigaon cop was taken into custody Sunday on suspicion of extortion.
Bongaigaon PS arrested Majibar Rahman police constable. He was responding to an FIR submitted by Sukhiram of Souraguri Part-IV. Bhowmik claimed that the constable wanted money in exchange for his police report. Bhowmik secretly recorded and lodged an FIR against a police constable. Bongaigaon Police have opened a case No 305/22 in accordance with Section 163/384/511 IPC. Majibar R Rahman, the prime accused and son of Ahezuddin and Tengnamari Village residents of Abhayapuri PS, Bongaigaon, was detained and taken to judicial custody. The matter is under investigation by police.
