At the direction of the Prime Minister, Minister Scrubabidia visited the flood-affected Badalpurgat, Caleabond and Sriguri areas under the Badalpur Revenue Circle and provided relief camps at 993 Badalpurgat LP School, Caleabond LP School and Suriguri High School. In light of the situation, Mr. Scrubavidia, Minister of Conservation in the Karimganj district, expressed satisfaction with the government’s provision of adequate and timely relief to the affected people. The minister also instructed authorities to engage in relief efforts promptly and provide relief supplies to all newly established relief camps and those who are unable to leave their homes due to floods.
Circle officers, Badalpur, Towahill Arom and related department officials accompanied the Minister. A total of 4,603 people were affected by the district floods. The administration has opened nine distribution centers in Karimganj and five relief camps in Badalpur.
In addition to Culvert, the floods damaged two embankments, Krishnapur and Mororapara, near Umalpur, and six roads. SDRF personnel have evacuated 511 people under the Badarpur Revenue Circle and moved them to safer locations.
After that, Scrubabidia, who is also the Minister of Conservation, visited the neighboring Hailakandi district to monitor the flood situation. The minister instructed the Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretary not to leave stones in providing relief supplies to affected people with a focus on medical care in a camp containing 300 inmates. Suklabaidya also visited relief camps at Thandapur LP School and Annada Charan HS School to stock up on relief efforts. He asked the Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretary to ensure that the inmates had safe drinking water.
