HAFLONG: On Tuesday, NC Hills Autonomous Council CEO Debolal Gorlosa and executive Nojit Kemprai visited the ongoing restoration work on the Haflong-Sri Lanka Road, including Jhunu Nulla and Gurubari.
On May 16th and 17th, heavy rains and landslides severely damaged the Haflong-Sri Lanka road. During that time, roads were damaged in many places and restoration work was carried out. However, from June 15th to June 16th, the road was damaged in many more places.
The first phase of the May rain caused more damage around Haflong and Borer, while the second phase reported more damage in the rural areas of Dima Hasao. No actual damage has yet been confirmed, but it is expected that it will take some time before the district returns to its original glory.
While talking to the media, CEM Gorlosa thanked all the people at Dima Hasao for expanding their support during this crisis and said the entire NCHAC team is working hard to restore and rebuild the district. I did. All previously constructed arterial roads and access roads were severely damaged.
