MORIGAON: A tearful situation prevailed in entire Kushtoli GP under Laharighat constituency as the bodies of the four labourers – Gupal Phukan, Harmuhan Deka, Pallab Laram and Dipankar Bordoloi – reached the district.
In the presence of their relatives and district officials, they were cremated on the public cremation grounds. Minister Pijush Hazarika, the Assam Government took a major step to return the remains of four Manipuri labourers.
The Morigaon district administration had earlier paid tribute to the four workers. District administration led by Prakash Ranjan Gharphalia (Deputy Commissioner) and Aparna Natarajan (Supervisor of Police), paid flowers tribute to the coffins.
