Assam: Opposition Presidential Candidate Yashwant Singha Will Visit The State Starting July 9-11

“Our party workers will accompany his visit to the State as the Congress has already decided that Yashwant sinha is the candidate,” he said.

The Assam Congress also invited Raijor Dal chief AkhilGogoi, and CPI-M leader Manoranjan Talukdar, to the Sinha campaign.

Apart from Raijor Dal & CPI-M the Congress hasn’t invited any other political party to its ranks.

According to reports, Draupadi Murmu’s presidential nominee has been supported by the Badruddin Ajmal-led All Indian United Democratic Front.

Sinha joined Trinamool Congress last year after he left BJP due to disagreements with the new leadership. Sinha has been against Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government for the past few years.

Born in Patna in Bihar, Sinha entered politics after he left his IAS job in 1960. He was there for 24 years.
