Assam: Kokrajhar DC insists on smooth implementation

All heads of department were instructed to present the non-gazetted employee list to the Lok Kalyan Divas felicitation committee. This was to take place on August 5, 2022. To ensure that the 400th anniversary of Lachit Borphukan is celebrated in large numbers, all officers were instructed to educate the public. School children were directed by the Education department. A District-level Steering committee was established in order to improve the production and export of One District One Product, (ODOP), mushroom and other mushroom products. It will deliver its reports in 15 days.

The Agriculture Department was also directed to concentrate on paddy procurement and multi-cropping. They were also instructed to explore the possibility of enhanced millet cultivation. In this context, the Nodal Officer has been instructed to examine possibilities of increasing the number Paddy Procurement Centres. For the second crop of paddy procurement, awareness sessions will be held.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Commissioner who directed the officers of the departments to conduct extensive field trips and report back their findings with photos for corrective action. All Circle Officers in the district were directed to perform a detailed verification of villages where the public requested name changes. The Circle Officers were also directed to speed up processes related to the Kokrajhar-Rupsi Airport Road – greenfield project.

Further, the Deputy Commissioner stressed that Jal Jeevan Mission must be implemented quickly, as well as smooth operation and construction of Anganwadi centers and schools. The Deputy Commissioner will regularly review the progress of each department.
