By destroying a wall at the centre, the five Rohingya children and two other local children escaped the observation home in Meherpur in Silchar.

Sources said that the incident occurred on July 1, and was only discovered Friday.

Silchar police arrested 26 Rohingyas, including 8 women and 6 men.
