The incident was reportedly reported from the village of Pator in BanmukhBO in the Sivasagar district.
The accused, identified as Amrit Gogoy, was not pleased with the fact that a wife named Link Gogoy had filed a police complaint against him for assaulting her under the influence of alcohol.
In response to the complaints raised by Rinkugo, police summoned him and warned him of the disastrous consequences if he noticed that he would repeat the same thing in the future. Angry at this, the accused tried to kill his wife by tearing her throat with a knife.
Fortunately, I managed to escape and evacuate to my neighbor’s residence. Her neighbor’s residence later took her to Shiva Saga Municipal Hospital.
After the incident was notified to the police, they captured Amrit and began investigating the incident.
