Tamil Nadu: Three Class 10 students were arrested for gangrape of a 15-year-old girl.
They also shared a recording of their sexual assault. A third boy, who had been in a relationship to her, was also arrested for stalking.
Thittakudi Inspector of Police Ms Kiruba said to Bibarud: “All the alleged perpetrators, all juveniles in Cuddalore, had blackmailed a girl student with a picture that shows her with a boyfriend, and threatened to bring her to the home of one boy where the assault occurred.”
According to police, the girl visited her former senior student friend’s home for her birthday. The alleged offender was a former classmate. He had taken a photograph of the boy with the girl and then blackmailed the girl saying that he would give it to her parents. She was attacked by three men while she was on lunch break the first month. One of them even recorded the incident, which was shared later with students.
The girl shared the video with her mother after she learned that it was being shared. Police then took action. Police arrested the suspect for rape, and invoked the POCSO Law (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences). All minor boys found in violation of the law were sent to an observation center.
