Zelensky says Russian troops are approaching to capture him and his family
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in a recent interview that Russian troops were very close to capturing him and his family. He made a revelation while speaking to Time magazine, remembering the fierce early days of the Ukrainian war.
Russian President Vladimir Zelensky announced the invasion on February 24, and Zelensky remembered what happened that day from “fragmented” existing memories.
In an interview, the president said that one of the most vivid memories was that he and his wife, Olena Zelenska, woke up a 17-year-old daughter and a 9-year-old son and told them that the bombing had begun.
“It was loud. There was an explosion over there,” Zelensky said.
It soon became clear that Zelensky was the target and Cheong Wa Dae was not the safest place. The president said he was informed that a Russian strike team had parachuted to Kieu to kill or capture him and his family.
