Youth's health deteriorates following 'wrong' medical treatment in Nagaon

After receiving ‘wrong medical treatment’ in Nagaon, youth’s health declines

NAGAON: The family, relatives, and neighbours of the victim, hailing from Nagaon Gomariati, allege that a doctor has wrongly treated them. They went on a rampage on Wednesday and destroyed the hospital.

Meanwhile, the angry mob protested against the Nagaon Haiborgaon-based GD Nursing Home & Research Center physician and demanded his immediate arrest. Sources say that the doctor was forced to leave the hospital after witnessing the fury of the protestors.

The hospital’s physician, Dr Gopal Ray performed a procedure on a young man to remove an appendix. He was complaining of stomach pains. The patient’s family was instructed to take him to Nagaon PB Civil Hospital because he experienced the same symptoms as before the operation.

Nagaon Civil Hospital’s doctors conducted a variety of medical tests and discovered that there was no procedure performed in GD Nursing Home and Research Center. Family members of the young man immediately called Dr Gopal Ray and inquired why he had misled them. The youth agreed and Dr Roy stated that he would perform the operation.

This was followed by an operation at Nagaon GD Nursing Home & Research Center in Haiborgaon. It took place a fortnight earlier. Sources said that the young man’s health deteriorated after the operation and his family shifted him to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital, GMCH, where he is still receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit. Sources said that Dr Roy’s alleged incorrect treatment left the youth in serious danger. His family, friends, and neighbors began to rampage Wednesday morning.
