Woman Gangraped At New Delhi Station, 4 Railway Staff Arrested: Police

Police said that four railway workers were arrested for gang-rape on the platform of New Delhi Railway Station.

All four of the accused were employees at the Railways Electrical Department, according to police. Police said that the gang-rape took place in a train lighting structure on the platform at late Thursday night. Two of the accusers raped her, but the rest stood watch outside.

Three-year old Satish Kumar and 38-yearold Vinod Kumar, three-yearold Mangal Chand, 33-yearold Jagdish Chaud, and one-third of 37-years-old Jagdish Chad are the accused.

DCP Railway Harendra Singh said that the victim called police at 3.27 a.m. to inform them about the incident. She was rescued by police who immediately ran to her aid.

According to police, the woman claimed that she lives in Faridabad, Haryana. About two years ago, she had divorced from her husband and was looking for employment. According to police, she met Satish through a friend, and he promised her work in Railways.
