"What About Pratibha Patil": Tejashwi Yadav's Takedown of BJP
Bihar’s opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav, targetted by the BJP over his “statue” comment on NDA’s presidential candidate Droupadi Murmu, today hit back at the ruling party, questioning if they respect women so much, why did they vote against Pratibha Patil in the Presidential elections 15 years ago. A list of the requirements for a president in today’s political climate was also provided by him. He stated that he only replied to a reporter about whom he would vote.
Droupadi has not hosted a single press conference since she was chosen to be the NDA candidate. Tejashwi Yoav stated this Saturday adding to the political row about Congress leader Ajoy Kumar’s “evil philosophy.” remark.
“We do not want any statue to be placed in Rashtrapati Bhavan. We are electing President. While you must have heard Yashwant sinha’s voice, we have not heard that of the candidate for the presidency of the ruling party,” Yadav said before the election.
When asked about this matter, Mr Yadav replied, “They [the BJP] are now much talking about a female candidate. How do they respect women? Why did the BJP vote against Pratibha Patel? Why was she elected President of India? It was the first election of a woman to be president.
