Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled the nation’s emblem on the top of the new Parliament Building.

Bronze is the national emblem. It weighs in at 9,500kg and stands 6.5 metres high. It is located at the highest point of the new Parliament building’s foyer. To support the emblem, an iron structure supporting around 6500Kg was constructed according to government notes.

Eight stages were involved in the preparation of the concept sketch, which was used to cast the national emblem for the roof of parliament’s new building. This included clay modelling, computer graphics and bronze casting.

During the event the Prime Minister interacted also with those who were involved in construction of the magnificent new Parliament Building.
