Two cities, airports have been renamed: what happens when Udafter Clay faces a vote

Despite the instability of the Maharashtra government in the rebellion, the state cabinet led by Uddhav Thacke today approved the renaming of Aurangabad to Sambuhajnagar and Osmanabad to Darashif.

Sambhazy was the eldest son of King Maratha, Chatrapati Shivaji, and was named after the party. Aurangabad was named in the 17th century when the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb was the governor of the region. It has long been a party’s request to change its name after Sambhazy, who was ordered to be executed by Aurangzeb.

Named after Mir Osman Ali Khan, the last ruler of Hyderabad, Osmanabad is named after a 6th-century cave near the city.

Timing is very important as the rebels led by Eknath Shinde are challenging Team Thackeray in their ideological plans.
