Salaries on hand, contributions to the Employee Provident Fund, and working hours may change significantly as the Center plans to enforce new labor laws from 1 July.
The newly defined wage code provides for a series of amendments that result in increased working hours, PF contributions, and reduced employee salaries.
The government is in the process of enforcing a new labor law that will come into force on July 1.
However, some states have not yet developed rules based on all four labor laws. In a written response to Lok Sabha, Labor and Employment Minister Rameshwar Teli, only 23 states and the Union Territory (UT) have published draft rules under the Wage Code.
