Social worker Motilam Koiri dies in Doomdooma

DOOMDOOMA: Motiram Koiri, a prominent writer in the tea community, died on Monday night due to an old age illness. He is 89 years old and has survived by his wife and five sons, including Ragen Koiri, president of Tinsukia Zilla Parishad.

After aging from the tea plantations, he lived permanently on Woodroad in the town and was closely associated with many sociocultural organizations, including Doomdooma Sakha Xahitya Xabha (DSXX). His death fell into a dire situation and was widely mourned by many organizations such as Doomdooma Municipal Board, Tinsukia Zila Xahitya Xabha (TZXX), Doomdooma Sakha Xahitya Xabha (DSXX), Tinsukia District Journalists Association, Doomdooma Press Club, Doomdooma Asamiya Puja Aru Natya.
