Smoke in the cabin, SpiceJet flight returns to Delhi at 5,000 feet

The spice jet flying to Jabalpur returned to Delhi Airport this morning after the crew noticed smoke in the cabin, news agency ANI reported.

The flight was at an altitude of 5,000 feet when the crew saw smoke on board.

“The SpiceJet aircraft operating from Delhi to Jabalpur returned safely to Delhi Airport this morning after the crew noticed smoke in the cabin while passing 5,000 feet. Passengers were safe. I disembarked, “said a spokeswoman for SpiceJet, according to ANI.

The visual tweeted by the news agency showed a smoke-filled cabin. The visuals also showed passengers leaving the aircraft after returning to Delhi.

This is the second emergency landing of SpiceJet in 15 days. On June 19, an aircraft to Delhi carrying 185 passengers made an emergency landing in Patna shortly after takeoff as the left engine ignited following a bird strike.
