Skill development training programme organized at Krishi Vigyan Kendra Sonitpur

TEZPUR – A 3-day training program for skills development was held at Krishi Vigyan Kendra Sonitpur in Napam. It focused on skill development for Agnigarh FPC (and Nameri FPC) under CBBO of Assam Agricultural University Jorhat. Angana Sarmah (Head) of KVK Sonitpur welcomed all participants as well as resource persons to the training.

There were discussions about improving the farming methods of maize and litchi cultivation in order to increase the productivity of farmer groups and also improve the marketing, processing, and value added of produce. The event’s valedictory function was attended by Deba Kumar Mishra, Deputy Commissioner for Sonitpur. He also interacted with FPC members. Pankaj Bora the District Circle Officer and Dilip Gayan the Assistant Agriculture Officer Pranjal Singh, DDM Narbad Pritam Nath Dr Pramod Chaudra Deka, Coordinator Dr Pallab Sarma, Dr Pramod Sharma, Dr Pramod Chakradeka CEO, PIU Kamrup coordinator Dr Pallab Sharma interacted also with farmers in various sessions. The training was attended by 50 farmers from the FPCs. Dev Kumar Mishra, District Commissioner, planted saplings from Alphonso Mango variety for conservation and protection.
