Shinzo Abe Wore This

Shinzo Abe Wore This "Nehru Jacket" In Varanasi. It was given to me as a gift.

On Friday, an Indian businessman based in UAE thought back to how Shinzo Abe valued and appreciated his golden beige jacket. He wore it when he visited Varanasi 2015 as part of his historic visit.

Abe, aged 67, was gunned down by an unknown assailant on Friday in Japan. He had been delivering a speech for the campaign and was being shot from behind. Before stepping down for health reasons in 2020, Abe had been Japan’s longest serving leader.

Shamsheer Vyalil (Founder and CEO Burjeel Holdings) told PTI that the news was shocking because it reminded him of his business trip in New Delhi last year, which coincided with Abe’s three-day official visit to India. This visit was meant to improve India-Japan bilateral relations.

Shamsheer was able to meet Abe the first day on his visit to Japan in order to talk about medical technology cooperation.

Shamsheer, who was preparing for the meeting, remembered reading about Abe’s grandfather Nobusuke Kishi, former Japanese Prime Minister.
