Severe Flooding, Damage In Pakistan's Karachi Amid Record Monsoon Rains

Officials stated that on Monday torrential rains caused massive flooding in Pakistan’s capital Karachi, causing extensive damage and even flooding the district.

Murad Ali Shah (chief minister in Sindh Province) stated that many underpasses were flooding and that there wasn’t any way for floodwaters to be pumped out.

In three hours, he said that a record 126mm of rain fell.

In the most recent Monsoon rains spell, one more death was confirmed to add to 29 others reported last month.

Floodwaters gushed into the houses of wealthy areas like Clifton and Defence Housing Authority (DHA).
