Retired professor Bhanu Padmapati contributes to CM's Relief Fund

Bhanu Padmapati, CM Relief Fund contributor after he retired as a professor

TEZPUR : On Wednesday, retired social worker Professor BhanuPadmapati presented a check of Rs 55,000 as a contribution to the Chief Minster’s Relief Fund by Sonitpur Deputy Commissar Deba Kumar Mishira.

The Deputy Commissioner paid a visit to her home at Baroholia, Tezpur in order to collect the cheque. The Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma called the distinguished educationist to express his appreciation for her generosity from her pension in support of such a worthy cause.

Padmapati was born on September 3, 1936. She graduated in Economics from Gauhati University. In 1996, she retired from Nowgong Girls College. Multi-faceted, Padmapati is also well known in the world of sports. She is the recipient of the highly coveted Sports Pension from Government of Assam. Her reputation as a dramatist is evident. She has participated in many plays along with legends Kalaguru Bishnuprasad Rakha and Natasurjya Pani Sarma. Annada Kumar Padmapati is Annada’s daughter from Baroholia (Tezpur).
