Buckingham Palace and the BBC said on Saturday that a previously unseen footage of Queen Elizabeth of Britain as a young girl before taking the throne will appear in a new documentary that airs later this month.

The May 29 program, drawn from a home movie of the Queen’s personal collection of life as a princess, precedes her 70-year celebration of the monarch.

“This documentary gives us a glimpse into the deep and personal side of the royal family, which is rarely seen. It’s great to be able to share it with the country when marking the Platinum Jubilee,” said the BBC’s History Commissioning Editor. One Simon Young said.

According to the BBC, the producer has watched over 400 reels of movies, including behind-the-scenes recordings of state events, and is immersed in her over 300 speeches.
