Railway Protection Force of Lumding Division celebrates freedom fighters and their kin
Anshul Gopta (General Manager Northeast Frontier Railway) was reported as the main guest. Pranav Kumar, principal Chief Security Commissioner for RPF, Migom Donley, DSC LMG, and other dignitaries were also there.
A melodious RPF band performance opened the programme. Anshul Gopta presented felicitations to freedom fighters, as well as their close relatives in Guwahati to remember India’s freedom movement. Krishna Kanta Lahkar (respected freedom fighter) was present at the event. He is also president of Asom State Freedom Fighters Association.
All the stations in Assam that are important to freedom fighters will still be open for felicitation. In addition, the felicitation will go on at the Lumding Division’s most prominent stations.
Maa Musical Group was recognized today for creating the Assamese RPF Amrit Get. The General Manager of NF Railway flagged off a video-mounted truck that showed videos of RPF Amrit Geet, achievements of RPF, and a motorcycle rally. To highlight Azadi Ka Amarit Mahotsav celebrations and to show support for the RPF’s achievements, the video-mounted truck will be moving over 15 stations in the Lumding Division. RPF organizes a motorcycle rally. The video-mounted truck will transport the bikers over key stations. They will eventually arrive in Maligaon, Bihar on July 15. This rally will conclude in New Delhi on august 14. It will culminate in New Delhi on August 14. Lumding has had 11,000 saplings planted. Around 2,200 saplings have already been planted at Badapur (Silchar), Dharmanagar and Baraigram as well as Jarimganj Imphal, Diphu and Imphal. The Lumding Division hosts Jal Sewa, Run for Unity and cleanliness drives. RPF personnel as well their families are enthusiastically participating in these activities. Lumding Division has been given a Run for Unity target of 21,000 kms. RPF personnel have already covered 1,525kms. RPF personnel installed water counters at every station and provided clean water to more than 58,000 people. RPF personnel have also provided Shramdan in response to the cleanliness drive held at key stations across the Lumding Division. Azadika Amrit Mahotsav’s celebrations were intended to foster unity and harmony, as well as to raise awareness about RPF’s functions and its service to the country by safeguarding Railway property and passengers.
