Originally from Satara, western Maharashtra, Priyanka Mohite became the first Indian woman to climb five mountains over 8,000 meters after climbing Mount Kangchenjunga on Thursday.

Winner of the Tenzing Norgay Adventure Awards 2020, Priyan Kamohite (30) successfully completed an expedition to Kangchenjunga (8,586 m), the third highest mountain on the planet, at 4.52 pm.

In April 2021, she climbed Annapurna (8,091 m), the 10th highest mountaineer in the world, and became the first Indian female mountaineer to achieve this feat.

Priyanka Mohite also climbed Mt. Everest (8,849 m), the highest mountain in the world in 2013, Mt. Lhotse (8,516 m) in 2018, Mt. Makar (8,485 m) and Mt. Kilimanjaro (5,895 m) in 2016.

Mohite, who has been passionate about mountaineering since childhood, began scaling the mountains of the Sahyadori Mountains in Maharastra as a teenager, and in 2012 Bandarpunch, a massif in the Garwar district of the Himalayas in Uttarakhand. Was scaled.
