Patiala’s curfew after two groups clash, Shiv Sena’s leader arrested

Shiv Sena’s leader, Harish Singura, was arrested today after a clash at Patiala during an anti-Khalistan protest march. The clash took place outside the Kali Mata Temple when a member of the costume named Shiv Sena (Bal Thackeray) started the “Khalistan Murdabad March”. Members of the two groups also swung swords and threw stones at each other.

The arrest took place after a high-level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Bhagwant Mann of Punjab. Mr Mann called the case unfortunate, and his government vowed that no one would cause confusion in the state.

A curfew is imposed in the city from 7 pm today to 6 am tomorrow.

The Khalistan Murdabad March was sponsored by Shiv Sena (Bal Thackeray) leader Harish Singla. The march began with Arya Samaj Chowk, with the slogan “Khalistan Murdabad” by Senna activists.
