China and Pakistan Invite any 3rd Nation To Join Economic Corridor

China and Pakistan decided Friday that they would welcome third countries to the multibillion dollar China Pakistan Economic Corridor in mutual beneficial cooperation.

According to a Foreign Office statement, the 3rd meeting China-Pakistan Economic Corridor Joint Working Group (JWG), on International Cooperation and Coordination was conducted in virtual mode and co-chaired By Foreign Secretary Sohail Mahmood and China’s Assistant Foreign Minister Wu Jianghao.

Both sides discussed the continued implementation and expansion of CPEC to areas that were jointly identified as priority areas during their meeting.

It was said that CPEC as a leader of the Belt and Road Initiative, (BRI), had made new ground in strengthening regional and international connectivity in particular in its expansion into Afghanistan.

Foreign Office reports that “Both parties were open and welcoming to interested third parties in order to take advantage of the avenues for mutually-beneficial cooperation provided by CPEC.”
