On Freebies, Supreme Court Refers Case To New Bench, Hearing Live-Streamed

Today’s Supreme Court order called for an expert commission and an all-party meeting on political parties that promise freebies before elections. It was a historical first that marked the end of outgoing Chief Justice NV Rajana’s final day.

The hearing on the freebies was one of 20 that were streamed live from the Ceremonial Bench, the court of the Chief Justice.
