"Okay To Win Medals, But More Important Is…": Neeraj Chopra After Win

Neeraj Chpra, Olympic gold-medallist Neeraj Chopra said on Sunday that while winning medals can be great, being humble and respectful of others is much more important.

On Sunday, the 24-year-old made history by winning the silver medal for the men’s javelin throwing final at the World Athletics Championships held in Eugene Oregon.

After the event Mr Chopra stated that while it was fine to win medals for the nation, what is important is how one interacts with others and the way they behave.

He added that “if someone is showing you respect, it’s important to also ask yourself whether you are actually showing that respect to them – that is extremely important.”

Chopra stated that athletes are only good for a very brief time and must then return to the normal life.
