"Not leaving Shiv Sena of Balasaheb Thackeray": Rebel Eknath Shinde

Shiv Sena, leader of Shiv Sena, who was camping in Gujarat with about 33 party MLAs before leaving for Assam, following a mutual vote in the Maharashtra Legislative Council (MLC) poll on Wednesday. Said they have not left Shiv Sena of Barasaheb Saccharai.

His remarks came amid speculation that Mr. Cinde, along with other MLAs, could join the BJP to defeat the Mahabicas Agadi (MVA) government.

Shiv Sena’s leader spoke with media outlets here at Surat Airport before leaving for Guwahati, stating that they are tracking Hindutva in Barasaheb Saccharai and will carry it further.

“We didn’t leave Shiv Sena in Barasaheb Thackeray, and we won’t leave it. We’ll keep chasing Hindutva in Barasaheb and carry it further,” he said.

Barasaheb Suckerley, who founded Shivsener on June 19, 1966 to defend the interests of the Marathi or Maharashtra people, died on November 17, 2012.

Cinde left Surat International Airport early Wednesday for Guwahati in Assam, along with 33 party MLAs and seven independent MLAs staying at the Le Meridien Hotel in Surat.
