Media Workshop on Children’s Rights at Kokrajhar PressClub

KOKRAJHAR: A media workshop on “Suraksha-Providing a Protected Environment for Children to Maximize their Potential” will be held on Thursday at the Kokrajar Press Club by the UNICEF, Assam and Assam Children’s Rights Protection Commission. It was jointly held by (ASCPCR).

Senior journalist Mrinal Talukdar, who attended as a resource person, became sensitive to what the local media did and did not do when reporting on the child’s case. He explained good and bad practices from a reporting perspective, with examples of related legal provisions.

In his speech, ASCPCR member Phanindra Bujarbarua explained to the media about the efforts of the National Commission to protect children’s rights and asked them to protect children’s rights when reporting news about children. I urged the media people. Dibyajyoti Sarma, ASCPCR’s legal counsel, also shared various legal provisions of the Commission on the Protection of Children’s Rights.

A media handbook on guidelines for media personnel to follow in protecting and promoting children’s rights was also distributed to participants during the program.

The workshop was attended by approximately 50 media representatives from both print and electronic media in Cochrajar, Gosai Gaon and Dot Mapres Club in the Cokrajar district.
