Chief Justice NV Ramana, a Supreme Court judge is currently hearing three cases. One of these petitions challenges the release of eleven men convicted in 2002 Gujarat riots for the gangrape Bilkis bano.
Notice was issued by the Supreme Court regarding the petition to release 11 Bilkis Bano convicts. It also asked that petitioners implead those 11 convicts. According to the Supreme Court, the case would be heard within two weeks.
