Kobe Bryant Car Crash Case: Jury awards $31 million damages

Los Angeles County has been ordered to pay $31,000,000 in damages Wednesday by a jury over graphic photographs of the helicopter crash which claimed the life and death of Kobe Bryant.

The scene was rushed by firefighters and sheriff’s deputies who snapped photographs of the wreckage, which also included the remains of the Los Angeles Lakers legend with his 13-year old daughter.

Los Angeles civil trial heard that some first responders displayed the photos to the members of the general public, including a bartender. While one deputy text the images to a friend while the two played videogames, another deputy sent them to the other.

Los Angeles County defended the photos, claiming they were never made public. Officials have worked diligently to remove them from any devices.

The two-week-long trial also heard that Chris Chester and Vanessa Bryant, the husband and wife of Chris Chester who lost their daughter and wives in the accident, now live in terror at these photos being posted online.
