A difficult question from the poll panel about Hemant Soren's mining lease

Jharkhand Chief Minister Reacts To "Sealed Report" On Disqualification

Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren today said he hasn’t yet received any communication while he’s seen several media reports and BJP’s statements about the Election Commission “recommending his disqualification as a MLA”. However, the BJP believes that it has prevailed and requested mid-term polls on moral grounds.

However, the contents of this report by the EC aren’t yet available.

“It apparently seems that BJP leaders, including a BJP MP and his puppet journalists, have themselves drafted the ECI report, which is otherwise a sealed cover report,” Mr Soren reacted angrily in a statement.

Already, the BJP has taken Mr Soren to task for allegedly giving him a mining lease. “Hemant Soren should head towards mid-term polls, on moral grounds,” said BJP MP Nishikant Dubey, “Assembly should be dissolved and there should be elections in all 81 assembly constituencies. This has been demanded by BJP.

However, the Congress (junior partner of Mr Soren’s Jharkhand Morcha JMM) says that the alliance is strong in all cases. “I spoke to the CM who said that he had not yet received communication regarding the sealed report. Let the Governor take that decision. We are working on our strategy,” said Alamgir Alam, leader of the Congress Legislature Party.
