Japanese Encephalitis cases on the rise in Golaghat

Golaghat is seeing an increase in Japanese Encephalitis cases

GOLAGHAT – The number of Japanese Encephalitis cases (JE) is on the rise within the Golaghat region. The district has seen 31 Japanese Encephalitis cases (JE).

The hospital has discharged 16 people and two of their patients have already died. 13 others are currently being treated. A large number of people have reported that they were suffering from nausea, vomiting and fever at Swahid Kushal Konwar Civil Hospital, as well as other Golaghat health centers.

The people argued that it was up to the Health Department to implement various preventive awareness programs in the affected regions. The residents claim that the District has not taken preventive steps to stop the spread of the disease.
