Integrated tribal development project started at Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR: The launch program of the Integrated Tribal Development Project (ITDF Project) was launched on June 10th at Lawrence Islary, Ghanashyam Das, EM, BTC, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Horticulture, Naveen Dhingra, MLA of Kokrajhar East (ST) LAC. , CGM, NABARD, Assam RO, Ansumai Basumatary, and other key figures. This program was held in conjunction with the Government of India’s ICONIC Week (6 June to 12 June 2022) under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

At that time, Lawrence Islary, MLA of Kokrajhar East (ST) LAC, thanked NABARD for carrying out such a large-scale project at the Debitola block in the Kokrajhar district. Towards the rally, Ghanashyam Das, EM, BTC, Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Horticulture said project beneficiaries need to take care of plantations in order to earn good income in the future.

Naveen Dhingra, CGM, NABARD and Assam RO said the project would benefit 200 women in four villages under the Debitola block in the Kokrajhar district. He said the project was approved by SeSTA (NGO) with a five-year funding of Rupee 143 million. He said the project envisions horticultural crop cultivation, livestock, fishing, soil conservation, water resource management, community health and the development of women. He also said that the project would be of great help in raising the economic status of women in the project area.

Other officials also spoke on the occasion of ICONIC Week under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahozaf. SHG products were exhibited at the venue, and the villagers performed traditional dances representing the Lava and Garo tribes. The event was also livestreamed for the benefit of the general public.
