In Comeback Mode: BS Yediyurappa Reneges Vows To BJP For 2023
With talk of him being forced to retire, his plans to become a chief minister in Karnataka were scrapped. BS Yediyurappa thanked Narendra Modi and the BJP leadership on Wednesday for their new assignment. He promised to support the party to return to power at next year’s elections.
“I am grateful to the central committee for inducting my into the Parliamentary Board. This is a huge responsibility that I have been given by all the top leaders in the BJP. No position was expected of me. When I resigned to the Chief Minister, there was only one solution: to return BJP to power with all the leaders,” he told a Bengaluru press conference.
“101 Percent we will be returning to power during the next elections. We’ll try to establish BJP throughout southern India. He told Bibarud that he would travel all across India, as PM Modi had expected.
According to the office of Mr Yediyurappa, the strongman for the state BJP called PM Modi and thanked him. The Prime Minister then said that his services were necessary to help strengthen the party, bring it to power in South India, not just in Karnataka.
The party sees Mr Yediyurappa being included in the BJP’s top decision-making body as a political return of sorts. It is trying to show that it still values the veteran leader.
