"Hindus Our Forefathers": Assam's Badruddin Ajmal For No Cow Slaughter
Assam Lok Sabha MP and All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) chief Maulana Badruddin Ajmal, who is also the president of the Assam State Jamiat Ulama (ASJU) – the top body of leading organizations of Islamic scholars belonging to the Deobandi school of thought in India – on Thursday reiterated his appeal to Muslims of Assam not to sacrifice cows during this week’s Eid-ul-Adha, “respecting the sentiments” of Hindus.
RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh), is not the only one who wants to abolish Hindustan and make Hindu Raj a reality. Even in their hopes, Hindu Raj won’t become a reality. It is impossible for them to break the unity of Hindus and Muslims in this country. If you do not eat cows on Eid, it will not be a death sentence. We celebrate Eid with Hindu bhais. All of our forefathers are Hindus. Islam is a special religion. This is because we respect other religions,” Mr Ajmal explained to reporters in Guwahati.
In a previous statement, Mr Ajmal stated that the Qurbani, or the sacrifice of an animal on Eid-ul-Adha is an important duty. Tradition permits the tradition to allow for the sacrifices of cows, camels and buffaloes.
India is made up of many ethnic groups, religions and communities. The majority of Indians believe in the Sanatan religion, which considers cows to be holy animals.” he said.
The Assam Cattle Preservation Act 2021 was also reaffirmed by him. It prohibits any sale of or offering of beef in areas “predominantly inhabitated” by Hindus and Buddhists as well as Sikhs, Sikhs or Jains.
In response to the controversial remarks made by Nupur Sharma (ex-BJP spokesperson) about Prophet Muhammad and the egregious killings, Mr Ajmal stated that Muslims should not respond. They should instead pray for Nupur Sharma’s brains. Talking about beheading is stupid.
