One Heroin worth Rs. 3 Crore was seized and one person arrested by Assam Police

HOWRAGHAT – A Thakarajan drug peddler was detained by police at the Bokajan sub-division’s Barpathar station. The police recovered 323 grams of heroin in the amount of Rs 3 crore. When the peddler tried to escape from police in a scooter with registration number NL 07-EB-0556, he was stopped by officers. It was hidden in 30 soap containers. Police have identified the accused as Netra Bahadur, a Nagaland resident. A separate incident occurred on Monday morning when officers of Dillai Police Station in Bokajan subdivision intercepted a Tata DI XUV registration number AS01 NC 3848. 16 soap containers containing 204 gram total of pure heroin were found in the van’s door panels. One Faridul Islam was arrested by police, who is around 35 years old, and Ajmir Al, 21 year-old. They were able to detect heroin and the drugs were tested using a detection device. The police have done a rough estimate of the drugs seized and estimated their value at almost Rs 2 crore.
